Shipping and Return Policy

All Returns must be authorized by Simpler Life within 10 working days of the receipt of your order. You may be charged for the shipping and a 25% restocking fee. Therefore, it is important to plan well and be sure that we know exactly what you desire.
All of our products are FOB Redlands, CA 92373 or the manufacturer/distributor (for drop-ships).
Heavy Orders / Heavy Goods shipping option:
In some cases, your order cost does not include shipping and handling. Some of our products are too heavy for "normal" carriers like UPS. In that case, we will contact you and arrange to use a carrier to accommodate the heavy or large products. You will be charged the actual freight costs. This is commonly known as "Prepaid and Add". We note this on the Order page - you will find that the order is too heavy for UPS (or USPS, FedEx) and you will see only the "Heavy Goods" shipping method. The shipping cost for "Heavy Goods" is set to "TBD" (To Be Determined). The MIVA system (the platform this web site is built upon) does not have the ability to calculate the freight for heavy products/orders. This Heavy Goods shipping option allows you to order the products (MIVA requires you pick a shipping method) and it also flags us that we need to contact you and make freight arrangements. Since the system calculates the TOTAL WEIGHT for an order, that total weight may exceed what the built-in shipping rate calculator has as the maximum allowable weight for "normal" carriers such as UPS, USPS, FedEx. If the total weight exceeds these "normal" carriers weight limits, then the order will have the "Heavy Goods" method as one of the options. However, if the products are such that we can ship them and keep the package weight to less than the "normal" carrier's limit, you will be offered options to ship the order via UPS/USPS and we will ship the order in multiple packages. For example, say you order 2 of product XYZ and each one weighs 100 pounds. The system will see that as a 200 pound order. 200 pounds exceeds the "normal" carriers weight limits so you may choose 'Heavy Goods" as your shipping method (we'll assume the "normal" carrier limit is 150 pounds per package). If we see that we can ship two packages via a "normal" carrier because each package is less than 150 pounds, and you choose something other than "Heavy Goods" (say UPS Ground) we will ship it that way.
You may be charged a handling fee of $1.00 per box or $10.00 per pallet. We normally don't charge this fee, but we reserve the option for those orders that require extra work. We charge you the actual freight costs, so sometimes it is necessary to compensate us with a Handling fee for special circumstances (where there is a lot of work required to package and ship the order). We will let you know if there will be handling fees.
Simpler Life will ship the least expensive way; UPS, UPS 100 weight, LTL, Full Truck or Rail, unless you direct otherwise.
We cannot deliver to Post Office Boxes.
Please advise us if you have any special delivery considerations such as inside delivery, etc. Unless you advise differently, shipment will be made to one location, dock delivery. If you need a forklift or pallet jack, or if the truck needs a lift gate and/or there is inside delivery, you must advise us ahead of time.
Should you desire, we do have the capability to "drop ship" to several locations

Freshness & Timeliness of order:
Simpler Life is a stocking distributor and kit manufacturer. Our kits are usually "made to order" to insure freshness and long shelf life. Therefore, our usual delivery times are 3 - 4 weeks for kits, and 1 - 2 weeks for bulk items during normal (non-emergency) times. Should you need to receive your order sooner, please advise us at the time of order. We will give all diligence to meet your requirements. If we cannot meet your deadline, we'll say so.
